LITERATURE
David P. Silcox and Meriké Weiler, Christopher Pratt, 1982, pages 17 and 46
Pratt is one of Canada’s most important realist painters, and his life in Newfoundland is reflected in his subject matter. Silcox writes, “Pratt has three areas of serious concentration: fishing, sailing and painting.” This peaceful scene features a boat, of which Pratt writes, “I have always loved boats. When I was a boy they were far more common, and far more important than cars. They said Newfoundland to me.”
