PROVENANCE
Acquired directly from the Artist by the present Private Collection, Vancouver

Ted Harrison painted the three acrylic on paper works in this auction for a series of art cards which were produced by the now-closed Canadian Art Connections (later renamed Full Circle Studios Arts). They were also reproduced in calendars and made into posters and sold in galleries and museums throughout BC and Canada.

On verso of the work is a written description by Harrison:

"The Orca or 'killer whale' hunts off the Alaskan coast. It is a creature of great intelligence and grace. Indeed, in the wide seas, it is a symbol of strength and freedom combined with a love of life."

Consignor proceeds from the sale of this work will be donated to benefit the Vancouver Sun Children's Fund and the Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School Theatre Renovation Project.
