PROVENANCE
Acquired directly from the Artist by the present Private collection, Vancouver

This work was acquired directly from the artist by the present collector while working in Quito, Ecuador, for the Organización Comercial Ecuatoriana de Productos Artesanales (Ecuadorian Commercial Organization of Artisanal Products, or OCEPA) from 1965 to 1966. While living in Quito, the collector befriended the owner of the local gallery, and through him met the country’s distinguished contemporary artists and became part of the art community.

At the request of OCEPA, he then started an art gallery in OCEPA’s office building in Quito, to improve the organization’s relations with the fine art community. Several shows that included Eduardo Kingman’s work were organized there, and it was during this time that the present work was acquired.

This work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Archivo Kingman, signed by Juan Sebastian Kingman Jijon and Soledad Kingman Jijon.
