Ainsley Heffel
Ainsley Heffel graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from the University of San Diego, receiving both Departmental Honors and Exceptional Performance in Art History and a minor in Business Administration. She also attended Anglo-American university in Prague, Czech Republic, where her studies focused on European Art and Global Business. During her final year at the University of San Diego, she conducted an intensive thesis on the Post-War & Contemporary art market with a focus on the artist Gerhard Richter.
Ainsley has grown up in the Canadian art world and before starting her full time position with Heffel in 2017, she interned at Heffel in the summers and also worked at Christie’s New York in the photographs department. Ainsley has expertise in Canadian art, as well as a broad base knowledge of international art. She has experience appraising Private Collections, artwork in Public Institutions, Estates and Large Corporate Collections. In 2021 Ainsley completed the International Society of Appraisers Core Course in Appraisal Studies. Ainsley is currently the Manager of Appraisal Services and a Consignment Specialist.
Outside of Heffel, Ainsley is a member of the Audain Art Museum Gala Committee, tasked with increasing revenue for the annual gala event and facilitating donations to the live auction.
