The cover of the censer is modelled as Shoulao, the god of longevity, featuring a cloud-shaped opening on his back. The immortal sits gracefully on the back of a deer, holding a scroll in his hand. The deer, rendered with delicate details, turns its head upward to gaze reverently at the immortal.
