Putai, an incarnation of Manjushri, is modeled bare-chested seating on a lotus throne, with an ingot in his right hand, and a mongoose in his left, suggesting a rare form of this deity associated as a god of wealth. The statue is covered in gilt lacquer decoration, base plate still attached.
