In 1963, Jean McEwen traveled to the Greek island of Mykonos. He returned home with a Greek Orthodox icon representing the Virgin Mary and her Child, which inspired this series of small canvases entitled Icône.
En 1963, Jean McEwen a voyagé sur l’île grecque de Mykonos. Il en est revenu avec un souvenir tout à fait unique, une icône grecque Orthodoxe très ancienne représentant la Vierge à l’Enfant, qui inspira cette série de petits tableaux portant le titre Icône.
