"Colville was commissioned in 1965, after winning a nationwide competition, to design the reverse side of a set of coins to commemorate the centenary of Confederation. The coins were minted in 1967. He made both the measured drawings and plaster models from which the dies were cast. The six coins are: 1 cent - pigeon, 5 cent - rabbit, 10 cent - mackerel, 25 cent - wildcat, 50 cent - wolf, 1 dollar - goose." - David Burnett, Colville, 1983
